Buffy climbed until she reached the very top, catching a glimpse of her sister. Dawn’s eyes were wide with terror, tears streaming down her face. She knew Spike was following her, she didn’t have much time, so she spoke her final words quickly despite her own fear.
The decision had been made, and Buffy was going to do this. She had to do it now, though, before Spike got there in time to keep her from accomplishing her mission.
She took off at a full sprint. She’d already gone up, now she was going over.
